Hi Young,
All the files (STEP, bill of material) of the starter edition can be downloaded here : https://www.open-raman.org/build/starter-edition/download/ and here for the performance edition : https://www.open-raman.org/build/performance-edition/
There are also upgrades to go from the Starter Ed ...

Re: OpenRAMAN Suitability for Graphene
The morovian are actually relatively cheap cameras ; but they are not "true" cooled cameras as they are not made to work for extended period of time (they aren't fully sealed).
My plan was to TEC cool a regular camera just above dew point. But I have been quite busy this year and it's unlikely that ...

Re: OpenRAMAN Suitability for Graphene
I would not necessarily recommend this sensor for two main reason:
the pixel size which is incompatible with the current spectrometer; this would require changing the imaging lens and hence a complete re-study of the pupil effects
single line sensors are a pain to align. I did it in the past and ...

Re: OpenRAMAN Suitability for Graphene
You can definitely used the fiber-coupled add-on then :)
About the CCD/CMOS, that used to be true ~20 years ago but today CMOS have outperformed CCD even in long integration time. It is very difficult to have number for thermal constants which makes datasheet comparison difficult, but we can have a ...

Re: questions on spectrum analyzer program
Hi young,
The spectrometer you mentioned will (most probably) not be compatible with the SpectrumAnalyzer software. The software requires pointgrey or daheng camera direct input while virtually all commercial spectrometers have on-board electronics to analyze the signal and transfer it to the ...

Re: OpenRAMAN Suitability for Graphene
Hi,
I have no direct experience with graphene but this is a question that pops up relatively often.
I wouldn't use the starter edition but one of the method below:

https://www.open-raman.org/fiber-coupled-laser-update/

Re: Aligned with Neon Lamp – Still No Raman Signal from Sample
Can you describe what is a makeshift pinhole ? I'm not familiar with the term.
To answer shortly, it is absolutely necessary to have an alignment strategy/tooling. Frosted disks are one solution but not the only one.

Re: Aligned with Neon Lamp – Still No Raman Signal from Sample
Hi,
This is typical of the first trials at aligning the spectrometer :) You can see the neon spectrum without the spectrometer being "fully" aligned.
you need to recheck the alignment procedure using the frosted glass disk. The alignment needs to be correct within 0.01-0.05° for this to work ...

Re: sample mapping system
This is doable but you may have to think on a system for bed-leveling. Back of the envelope computation, I estimate the depth of field of the spot system to be in the order of 15 µm. Since we only need to collect light we can relax this a bit but I would aim for 100 µm maximum in a first iteration ...
