Re: Beginner’s assembly tricks : Solid add-on + GalaxyView + Neon calibration
Thank you very much for your detailed feedback Karel! I liked the idea of using the solid cuvette to re-image the light on the slit; that's less tooling required :) I think you also mentioned me that your Daheng camera is limited in 1 sec exposure time. It's the same with mine (different sensor, it'...

Re: Materialise 3-D Printed Parts
They seem to have drastically increased their price... you may want to check the price of CNC machining in POM/acetal/delrin at that level. Photoresin has much higher resolution than SLS which is required for that part. You can try in SLS but I don't think you'll get a clean groove for the o-ring. I...

Re: Materialise 3-D Printed Parts
You can ask for the support marks to be removed
stereolitography is a bit like filament in that regards, you need posts/support for the print and they need to be removed after

Re: Materialise 3-D Printed Parts
The LD clamp should be stereolitography :) It's a process where you can get much thinner details and the parts look a lot like molded injection parts. The only downside is that they are very brittle (just like glass) so never try to rework them with anything else than sandpaper. For the LD clamp it ...

I confirm.
PS: did I write FMJ in the BOM or MJF? FMJ would be Full Metal Jacket, a typo

Re: Spectral resolution of spectromter?
The total range on openraman is about 110nm (550 nm to 660nm approximately) : 1/550 - 1/532 = 600 cm-1 1/660 - 1/532 = 3650 cm-1 With a slit size of 20 um and a compression factor of cos45°/cos0° (grating configuration) the image on the camera is at best 14 um. In practice, it's a bit bigger due to ...

Re: Spectral resolution of spectromter?
There are detailed posts on thepulsar.be about resolution but information is a bit spread among the various posts. In summary: resolution is defined as the ability to discriminate two nearby peaks provided the peaks broadness are not the limiting factor a good estimate of resolution is given by the ...

Re: Spectrum Analyzer Software
I just updated the links, it should be working now. The problem occurs with "http" links because some web browser like Chrome don't allow downloading from non https links. When I moved the website from http to https, I had to correct all the links and I missed some. If you find other broke...

Re: Question about making the parts (cover, base plate, etc.) & analyzing soil
Spray painting is okay provided you can do it uniformly & where it matters. In fact, I often spray some of my SLS parts because the dye process of Materialize isn't black enough to my taste. That being said, I have two objections regarding FDM printing in optics. It can be used (we do it often a...
