Raman Probe design WIP

I have been working on a raman probe re-work of OpenRAMAN. I had these goals in mind: Reduce price by allowing the lenses to be glued in place after alignment. Use an off the shelf spectrometer which saves money, allows use of commercial software, and allows flexibility in the laser excitation wavel...

RamanBuilds new ideas

I changed my store a bit and am not going to offer kits or testing any more. People were only asking about the pre-made builds anyway and selling the kits didn't make economic sense after considering shipping and transaction fees. I am thinking about designing a new baseplate that's compatible with ...

Re: base plate manufacturing

I use hubs.com and the price is about $250 USD, though the quality is very good. Takes about 2 weeks for them. There are cheaper vendors, maybe you could find $150 from a low price one. The SLS technique is not something most people would have at home, there are builds here with PLA but it's not ide...

I wanted to add a note that the OpenRaman software also takes the average of each column of pixel data for the same reasons

Re: SpectrumAnalyzer New and/or Undocumented Feature DIscussion

Yeah I think Luc is aware and planning to work on it but I think he is taking a bit of a step back right now. If you wanted to take a look or find someone with the skills to fix this that would be helpful. The code is included as part of the download package and the other thread has sone pointers

Re: invalid node error during connect to camera in Spectrum Analyser

One more thing I thought of, when you install Spinnaker, I selected "developer". There was an option, selected by default, just installs spin view. Another thing is I used the usb-3 cord from flir, but unlikely that matters.

Re: invalid node error during connect to camera in Spectrum Analyser

Okay weird, yeah I have the exact same setup and it worked for me. I used the usb-3 as well. I will say I copied every file in from that zip into bin64, replacing the dll when I did so. Not sure if it matters.

Re: invalid node error during connect to camera in Spectrum Analyser

Okay.. sounds good. Yeah I was getting errors too when I tried it but then I realized I was putting in the bin and not bin64 folder. Can you post what version of Spinnaker SDK you are running, what exact camera model you have, whether you are using the ethernet or usb-3, and your version of windows ...

Re: invalid node error during connect to camera in Spectrum Analyser

Jack which folder did you put the patch into? It needs to go bin64 not bin. You'll still get a user defined values error but you can click through it and it will still work

Re: Cheapest possible "toy" spectrometer? $323

Yeah maybe, I guess there's a difference to me between practical low cost DIY and high scale. There are a handful of ways to save money if there is a 1,000 unit order. But in terms of a design that someone could build one-offs I think that makes things more tough You mean why not have the spectromet...
