Bright Isopropanol
Hello, I have been trying to redo the methanol concentration experiment described on the Pulsar Homepage. However I did not have any methanol and used propanol instead. I get a raman-signal on the camera from both alcohols however I found that the signal comming from the propanol is much stronger th...

Re: Beginner’s assembly tricks : Solid add-on + GalaxyView + Neon calibration
Well first let me say that you did understand me correctly and if there was any ambigouity in my post I am sorry. Second your point about the rods bending due to gravity makes sense. I noticed, when I used the mirror instead of only the frosted disct that the laser light hit the second disc more at ...

Re: Beginner’s assembly tricks : Solid add-on + GalaxyView + Neon calibration
If this thread is still open, may I ask a few questions about the alingment? I have noticed that there was no light signal from the cuvette reaching my camera. I used spinview and set the gain to the highest value while shielding off stray light with a blanket in the hopes of finding some signal com...

Re: OpenRAMAN: cuvette and cuvette holder reflections
Thank you.
Good to know that this is not an error of my setup. I now managed to block the laserlight from the spectroscope and I recalibrated it using the two gaslamps. Let's see if the spectrometer works now.

OpenRAMAN: cuvette and cuvette holder reflections
Hello forum, I finished assembling our build and calibrated it using Hg and Na lamps. When looking at the camera picture I saw brought spectral lines of both mercury and Na as I would have expected. I then tried to make an experiment similar to the ethanol-methanol concentration as described in this...

Spectrum Analyzer Software
Hi, I am not sure if this even belongs here but it seems more fitting than sending an E-Mail. I have tried to download the Spectrum Analyzer software from the page https://www.open-raman.org/build/software/ but for some reason it will not download. Whenever I try to click the download link notion ha...

Re: OpenRaman on homonuclear diatomic gas molecules
Thanks for your answer. I will have to build it in the frist place to get a better idea of how sensitive the spectrometer is. Maybe we will have to upgrade to the performance edition after all. Another idea that I had was to maybe use some diatomic molecules that are liquid at room temperature (we d...

OpenRaman on homonuclear diatomic gas molecules
Hello Forum, the affordability of the OpenRaman build is of interest to our university labclasses because for future teachers it can serve as inspiration for what they might one day do with their classes. We have therefore ordered the needed parts for a starter version and are preparing to integrate...
